“Come Along and ABC!”
Very simple app that requires minimal interaction from your child. Consists of a picture, a clear voice that identifies it and a cartoon pop-up. Older children familiar with the swipe function will be able to figure out how to move the train along but younger ones will need guidance. Will most likely grab the attention of very young children for a limited period of time. The song is original and can be used at bedtime.
This app has two modes- original alphabet song with pictures and flashcards with photographs. Each word is read aloud by the game. The player interface is very passive with the only player interaction being advancing the screen.
Swipe through the alphabet train from A to Z to review the pictures and corresponding vocabulary words with your child then choose another app that's a little more engaging and interactive.
I Spy games using the starting sound help children to listen for the sounds in words. Parents can also play along with a child by clapping once for each syllable.
