“Use addition and subtraction to solve the puzzle. ”

Number Pyramid is a great way for children to practice their addition and subtraction skills. I love that after children type a number into an empty block they can then check their answer. The numbers that are incorrect turn red giving children a chance to correct those answers before submitting their final solution. This not only develops children’s self confidence but encourages them to develop the habit of checking their work before they declare it completed. Parents and teachers can go to the setting “gear” and change the settings to match a child’s ability. The easiest setting is K and the most difficult is grade 4. This gives the app great. Number Pyramid is easily understood and easily navigated by its intended audience, provides children with a challenge, builds good habits of learning, and supports common core standards for the acquisition of math operations.

Family Activities

Begin with the group of five beans or small counters. Give your child a number as a destination. From five, how many beans do you add or subtract to get to seven? After doing several problems like this switch places and have your child give you the destination.
