This app explores tradittional and much loved children's song whilst introducing stick notation and piano key arrangement. The song is most engaging for younger children, though older children will find exploring a song they know a comfort and a key to success as they explore the piano and stick notation presented here. I'm sure a fun time is had by every age as they go about exploring the world of melody, pitch, rhythm and a frankly lot of dissonance as they pound away on the keyboard! Cacophony at its best!
Family Activities
Explore the rhythm of Old MacDonald kinesthetically. Sing the song and explore with your body the various aspects of rhythm one by one: the meter, rhythm of the words and then even apply ostinatos as your skills develop. Stamp your feet, jump or even make a regular rhythmic ostinato with a set of movements to match! When you've exhausted Old MacDonald move onto your next favoutite! Many many children and even adults NEED to explore music kinesthetically in order to really take on board what is being explored. Never underestimate the power of moving to music!
